EricRR:

AMD is doing just fine when one considers that not even one year ago it was trading at $9.00 (split adjusted) and Athy was in its prenatal stage...Athy is "here and now" in spades and AMD is about to raise the microprocessor entry bar to 700 MHz plus...The next year holds much more promise and much less risk for the AMD shareholder than did the past year...Who knows where AMD'll be trading a year from now, but 3.5 times (i.e last year's growth rate) its current price of $35, might prove conservative given the reduction in risk rate compared to one year ago when Athy was in its prenatal state.

EricRR,

"AMD should have the ability to do a low volume "paper" release at the same clock speeds at the same time as the Pentium 4 debut(1.4 or 1.5 GHz). They must do this. The resulting benchmarking comparisons would show the Pentium 4 significantly underperforming, and the marketing impact of such comparisons would be deadly. AMD would receive millions worth in free publicity, right in the middle of the Xmas season."

That's EXACTLY what I am thinking.

Peter

Ratbert,

Maybe AMD will be able to do a high volume 1.5GHz release at the end of the year?
