Frank and MikeM -- I follow MMDS news because of my investment in ZMBA, which owns a big piece of NextNet, a privately held company which manufactures equipment for MMDS. ( nextnetwireless.com ). their equipment generated a lot of excitement at the recent industry meeting in New Orleans, WCA 2000. (see messages.yahoo.com )

NextNet also recently announced an alliance with Cabletron. (NextNet CEO Ralph Muse is a former divisional VP of Cabletron.)

NextNet's equipment, due out for testing in the next few months is in the sweet spot of the anticipated market: indoor antennae, user-installable (no "cable guy"), scalable, cost less than $400. will appeal to a lot of home and small-office users. also see the following for 7/12 news about NextNet financing: biz.yahoo.com
