That joke is 20 years out of date.

Every American now works for a software company with 10 million in stock options. To its credit (and that darn guy in the White House who everybody loves to hate), the US has reinvented its economy.

How I wish I could qualify for one of those wonderful green cards, but that's the way it goes.

Agree...this 'joke' was true some 20+ years ago, back when mis-guided, protectionist US auto workers sported the most obnoxious bumper sticker ever (IMHO): "HUNGRY? EAT YOUR IMPORT"

The US auto mfrs. learned the hard way that patriotism doesn't fix a dead transmission or balky engine.
