Daniel, as we've come to expect from you, that was an outstanding essay. And, as you've come to expect from me, I have a comment. <VBG>

Once the code is reformed to the original intent of the Founders, then can we begin dismantling the excesses of the state.

Would but that it were so easy. I stand ready to be corrected by my betters, but I don't believe "the excesses of the state" have ever been "dismantled" by changes in legalities. At best, those excesses can only be stopped, or more often, slowed down. A true reversal, I think, is called a revolution. I am certainly no advocate for that; the balance you speak of is tolerable, reluctantly, for the forseeable future. I'm also unwilling to become any 'safer,' than I am right now, because I don't want to give up ay more freedom than I already have.

While I'd really like to see things roll back to pre-FDR government, I don't think it is possible without more turmoil and chaos (freedom?) than any of us are prepared to withstand.

JMHO,
