Re: "Every five to six weeks between now and early next year, AMD will introduce faster Athlons -- beginning at 1.1GHz, Monday"

Has anyone else noticed that every since Athlon was introduced AMD was poised to release an onslaught of faster processors that would leave Intel in the dust, but it never seems to happen? I have a prediction: Between CuMine and P4, if AMD's upcoming August 28th release is just 1.1GHz, which will still trail CuMines 1.133GHz, they will never again hold the Speed Crown. Before they get around to 1.2GHz, P4 will be on the scene and leave AMD in the dust for good.

We'll see if I'm right.

Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (NYSE:AMD - news) is looking to turn up the performance of systems based on its Athlon chip before the end of the year.

John-

That explains why Intel is down today and AMD is up...oh, I uh,...never mind.
