Your comments are far from objective and too often you argue from ignorance. The original Pentagon hostage rescue plan was scaled back by Jimmy Carter. The military wanted more time to plan the operation, but Carter, feeling the pressure of the nightly ABC telecast of Ted Koppel's "Day So and So of America Held Hostage" (later Nightline) pushed it ahead on Presidential authority. Acting as Commander-in-Chief, he overrode the military. (The same mistake LBJ made continuously with Vietnam.) FT
