Tom and noj- I am somewhat familiar with QCOM's digital distribution of Hollywood films idea from reading it off their website. But I do not know what is holding it back. Sounds like it's not clear from your comments.

I'm just amazed to peek into the stockrooms of movie theaters and seeing those big, old, heavy, dented, containers full of tapes all over the place. Then to watch the film jumping on the screen, nicks and tears flying by, I've always wondered what was keeping digital distribution from rolling out.

Does anyone know for certain what the problem is?

BTW I did read the stats on how much it costs to produce the tapes, and ship them all over the country and world securely. And IMVHO, I didn't think it was a large enough TAM to really spend a lot of time on. -MikeM(From Florida)

TAM- total available market
IMVHO- in my very humble opinion
BTW- by the way
