EMLX- when I saw the price down 40+, I checked the news release, which was 30 minutes old, but it was too risky for me to jump in. I switched on CNBC and they had no idea why the price was dropping and were not the cause of the drop. They were the cause of the recovery in QLGC since they announced the news that the release was a hoax. Wish I had stayed tuned, because they mentioned that Qlogic had fallen too since they were a Emulex spinoff during their initial reporting. Anyone who was still listening could have jumped into QLGC the moment they heard about the hoax and made a quick killing. Sigh.....

You know, Mary, the more I think about this, I realize just how much CNBC (David Faber in this case) are doing this by the seat of their pants. You guys correct me if I'm wrong, but don't the exchanges usually HALT stock when news is pending? In other words shouldn't Faber had realized that the story was bogus for that reason or at the very least raised some suspicion and done some further checking?
