I'm sure that they were reporting the drop first, and groping around for an explanation. The first mention of the news release gave the impression that they didn't receive the initial release, but picked it up externally after reporting the drop- like someone called in to tell them where to look. I don't think they had any other choice but to report the release as it was stated, since that horse was out of the barn. To their credit, they questioned the whole episode from the point at which they received the news. Now- back to business...
