I only lend support towards George Bush because Al Gore is a proven liar,
All this from a man who has never uttered an incorrect statement in his life? Gosh Father T, when do they start the sainthood process for you?

much higher than the radiation you would expect
Okay, you win Father T. Tell me what the heck city you are talking about, and where it is located, and I'll take a look at the available information.

For what it's worth, the granite walls of the Capitol of Texas emit more radiation than is considered safe (for a closed building). Special ventilation has been installed, and some offices have lead added to the drywall to protect Junior-George and the legislators.

<<The residual radiation is extremely high -- much higher than the radiation you would expect from a buried city which seems to be more than 12,000 years old.

Indian scientists are studying it intensely. Needless to say, all construction of new homes has stopped. Not only because it is an archeological find, but because the radiation levels are too dangerously high for anyone to be exposed to for too long a time.>>

Could it be they found a seam of uranium and used it in some way? Brought a little too much home?
