That's going to be a hard choice, but now is a good time to scout out the scene. Barron's put out yet another article mentioning CNC, and the longs on Y! and RB are out with their usual demonstrations of apoplexy.

Basically the article dares to question the sacrosanct notion that new, high-profile management is a cure for all ills, and in fact going so far as to suggest selling to the euphoria surrounding the new management's hiring. The article started by mentioning Conseco's situation, and going on to give examples of companies who, despite all the prior accomplishments of their new management, failed make a lasting turnaround, namely:

George Fisher, Eastman Kodak
Robert Lutz, Exide
C. Michael Armstrong, AT&T
Stephen Bollenbach, Hilton Hotels
Floyd Hall, K-Mart
G. Richard Thornan, Xerox
Robert Miller, Rite Aid
Richard Snell, Federal Mogul
and of course, Chansaw Al Dunlap, Sunbeam
