re: ""This is a real part, not a poster child posing for leadership.""

Now let me see if I got that correctly; did you say that he said: "This is a real part, not a poster child posing for leadership."

If he said: "This is a real part, not a poster child posing for leadership."

It could mean that since "This is a real part, not a poster child posing for leadership." that it, AMD, is actually producing and shipping in quantities that may have a material impact on its bottom line.

I just checked the news item for myself; and he really actually did say "This is a real part, not a poster child posing for leadership."

I am tempted to repeat the quote, "This is a real part, not a poster child posing for leadership", just one more time but I do not want to be excessively repetitious.

Perhaps my patience will will eventually be rewarded.

Patient Regards,

DARBES

Niceguy, Re: "This is a real part, not a poster child posing for leadership."

This is an interesting quote. Like DARBES I had to confirm for myself that Hector Ruiz actually said these words and you are correct, Hector Ruiz actually said "This is a real part, not a poster child posing for leadership."

The words "This is a real part, not a poster child posing for leadership." mean to me that AMD actually intends to manufacture and ship 1.1-GHz Athlons in volume and apparently AMD plans to enhance profits from such actions. This is good! This is leadership! This is AMD!

In case anyone missed it, the words Hector Ruiz spoke concerning the shipping of 1.1-GHz Athlons in volume were "This is a real part, not a poster child posing for leadership."

Thanks Niceguy for bringing this to our attention.

Kindest regards,
CrazyMan
