Yeah, I know the Gartner group, thanks to them I got 6 months supply of Y2K food for the "DISASTER" THAT NEVER HAPPENED!! Anyone need a can of beans??

JDN, I don't know how you got that Y2K scare out of the Gartner Group. Their position always was that there was a lot of remedial work to be done to fix the problem, especially in mainframes. However, they predicted no disasters and were nowhere near the alarmists like Ed Yardeni and his followers. I posted these on Jan. 1, 1999 about a Gartner person and a Yardeni follower after listening to both of them at length being interviewed on CNBC.

Like them or not, Gartner and Meta are the two most listened to consulting groups for enterprise IT systems.
