Do you ****honestly**** believe this? Or are you just having a little fun?

Chic-

I really do believe that the launch tomorrow may be a non-event. We are close to the point that the market is going to completely lose interest in who has the bigger Mhz number. If I were to buy a system today, I would not buy a 1.1 or 1.13 Something in the 700-800 would do me just fine. I am sure I am not the only person feeling that way.
Reading these threads sort of isolates you from the real world where people sometimes need to just take a breather. The folks actually buying computers and hooking them up at home have never heard of and certainly wouldn't care about all the silly "mine is bigger than yours" games that go on in these threads.
Of course, I could be wrong. Maybe we really will see the AMD moonshot tomorrow.

Both !

Once again, AMD announced a dozen companies with "plans" for a 1.1 GHz HumperTurd PC - but only Gateway is "taking orders".

Anand's bench marks show the Intel Pentium III FASTER in all relevant benchmarks - the AThWIper only shows specPerview advantages - which is useless for AMD - because these are generally important to Workstation users - and these people primarily use Intel's products.

The Intel Pentium III looks to be faster for all COMMERCIAL and GAME applications !

Looks like the 1.1 GHz Thumperturd launch is a YAWNER - unless you credit the $ 1 7/8 boost in Intel's stock to AMD !
