The USPS is not the reason we have great mail service. They are actually a fairly inefficient organization. The advent of e-mail and e-commerce has reduced their workload by magnitudes. That is why they may seem to have shown some improvement. knc

...subsidies. yeah the post office talks about 'being profitable' but every time a presidential candidate starts talking about privatization the postal union starts whining. so if they're 'profitable already,' why are they so afraid of being privatized?
