AMCC CEO Rickey on CNBC this morning. When asked whether AMCC was overpaying, he said if anything MMCN is growing at a faster rate than AMCC, i.e., more than 50% a year. In addition, he said acquisition will be accretive from Day 1
and product lines are complimentary. According to Rickey, in a fast-moving market you cannot wait to develop product but rather you must buy growth. Time to market is critical--both for OEMs and their customers.

Two thoughts:

1. AMCC is paying a huge amount for this company.

2. This looks like a copycat merger. PMCS just acquired Quantum computing.
