It's not viability I'm talking about...it's relative pricing of these 2 major players...makes no sense from any slant to me that Intel trades at $40 more than AMD when Intel's earnings are stagnant to declining, especially when
capital gains aren't included, while AMD's eps is accelerating

Fair enough. All I am trying to do is raise some possible reasons, as I see them, for what is going on in this market. I cannot accept "the emperor has no clothes" or "the market just hasn't caught on yet" because explanations like this assume stupidity in the millions of individual investment decisions made every day. I just cannot buy that the market has some rationality in it everywhere except in this Mhz race between AMD and Intel. Since I can't buy it, I am looking for alternative explanations.
I have posted enough on this topic. I am starting to sound like a school-marm even to myself.
