<< ... and I am not prepared to regard homosexuals as a protected class similar to blacks. >>

I have been against the homosexual lifestyle all of my life. When I had a child, one of my major wishes was that it would not be born, or become, a homosexual.

Then, as I learned more about the science about genetics, including sexual genetics, and as more gays bravely came out of the closet, I found myself deeply ashamed and embarrassed over my homophobia.

Why am I ashamed? ...... Because I have belittled and shown contempt for those that are different than me. Gays have to put up with a lot of abuse and cruelty just because they were born with different hormones and sexuality, when compared to the majority. Gays, especially when they are young, suffer great torments trying to figure out what and who they are. To add to their torment makes me ashamed.

To hear that the Boy Scouts are going to further isolate and belittle gays, makes me ashamed of my fellows, that are in the majority, and makes me sick to my stomach.

The Boy Scout organization should be ashamed for adding to the persecution of a minority, and I hope that funding is cut off as much as possible. Perhaps the new leadership of the Scouts is taking this great organization in the wrong direction.
