I still won't call you FUDster:-) In fact I had copied several posts onto RB board before. If Siemens can develop a chip (LAS-CDMA) that uses the CDMA air interface, and they already have a mastery of the GSM stack, and given their resources in microelectronics in general, and mobile telephony microelectronics in particular, they should not be dismissed as a competitor in WCDMA. I think you may want to say TD-SCDMA, which is a TDD version of WCDMA. I'm not sure how real that TD-SCDMA is. Siemense originally developed the B-CDMA in with IDC. Then the two sides got away from each other. As to this point, I still think the TD-SCDMA is more of a political move than a real technology breakthrough for simense. Everything involved with China always smells fishy to me. LOL In fact I do think LAS-CDMA, on the other hand has something interesting, at least in theory to have the possiblity to present something different in compare with Q's technology. As for the others whatever the xCDMA, I really don't see them can getting away from the track. Even for LAS-CDMA, it is still going a lot of the same route CZDMA2000 is using, it's just it has some interesting theories in some areas. As for the diagram you presented. I would say this. It's one thing to give a very high level blueprint of what need to be done and how it need to be done. But the real challenge is how to implement it with satisfactory performence. The flow of the messages are about the same from different vendors. Yes it is reasonable to expect the competition going stiff from other players. However I don't think we need to give the too much credits before their track records really show for it. For instance I think intel got their butts kicked, it's quite simple. You don't have to say Intel lost because they didn't concentrate on it because if you look at some big names, the reason they can stay ahead of the herd is because either their research is ahead or they can buy those who stay ahead the herd. In CDMA case, intel has no research force behind it so the only chance it has is through acquisition. Well DSP is no match so Intel lost, period. I would say this Intel, is a late comer and that is very hard for them to overcome no matter how concentrate they are. On the other hand I just hope you can give the same respect you gave to Intel, Nokia or Siemense to Q/Spinco. No, I'm not playing the respect game, it just may help you to have a better picture. You really need to compare the track records from each players and see who has the better chance. So far as all I can see, Q/Spinco is the only one has the real record as far as CDMA technology concerned. The respect you gave to the others are based on something they did in different arena. Hey if Shaq announces he will play football tomorrow, I will not give him the HOF status before he can prove it to me even though he is a tremendous athlete.
