vouchers improve scores for African Americans. The conclusion is pretty clear. The scores for anglo students didn't rise with vouchers, the private schools were no better than the public. For African Americans, when placed in a better school than was typical for their circumstance, their scores improved. TP

A study was released on the Texas criminal justice system. austin360.com It seems that although Texas jails more people than other states, and has 1/3 of the entire state's African American population in the system, and uses the death penalty as often as it can be scheduled, the crime reduction for the state is about the worst in the nation.
