Maybe I'm selfish, but I'd rather have a President who failed in his family life but succeeded in his job than the reverse. Sadly, that seems to have been the choice, lately.

Dan,

I agree that the economy has done well under Clinton. However, the Monica event was more than a failure of family life....it exposed a level of immaturity and lack of commitment not well suited to the position of President. I think the Presidency has too much power for someone to be operating at his level.

No one made him run for office. And given his behavior during the Monica event, it appears that it would have been best had he not run. It seems he is coping with some serious psychological issues that have not been dealt with previously.

That's my take of it.

Dan3 , I agree , and though I'm a simpleton compared to many who post here including Jim M. , I don't think it's accurate to call Bill a sociopath for lying , as ALL presidents must be adequate lairs as a prerequisite for the job .
The ethics of the X-cia head {G. Bush} would much more fit the description than the current president.JK

Which Presidents didn't have affairs?

RE:"I'll take the Clinton economy over the Carter economy any day. And so, I imagine, will the tens of millions of people who now have jobs when none were available under Carter, Reagan, or Bush."

You don't really think these guys had much to do with it do you?
