Re: Brain/Brawn - Who does the work for the Wireless SPs?

Frank- Sorry. I'm pretty much in the same position as you. I didn't even know(or remember?) that GG mentioned WFII in his newsletter. Somehow WFII got on my watch list and I can't recall how.

I'd also be interested in anyone's comments regarding this subject too. Seems to me that all the brain/brawn companies I follow are of the wired variety. I track three fairly closely, WATR, IFCI, and DY. None of them have a significant footprint in wireless of any type. IFCI is trying hard, but I don't believe they've made a significant impact yet. And WATR did a recent acquisition in the wireless field. It was very recent and again I think it's just getting started for them. DY seems to have little interest in wireless(except for this AMs mention of DBS for BLS). They have got their hands full with the wired SPs. The rest I don't have details on.

Good point about broadband hitting the wireless world soon. I think I have a report I'll dig up and see if that doesn't shed some more light on the subject. -MikeM(From Florida)

Hello - just found this thread and am a recent SI member.

In the following link some companies are almost entirely focused on wireless consulting & engineering. Examples are WFII and TMNG which IPO'd in 1999 and OTWO and LXNT which IPO'd very recently. Others such as ADCT have a wireless consulting division. And, as someone here mentioned, WATR is just beginning to get into the wireless field.

This next link contains two tower structure firms ANTP and ROHN which appear to make the steel structures, guylines, etc. The other four are tower owner/operators and lease space to SP's.

I presently own LCCI and ADCT of these groups. Considering buying OTWO and LXNT as both appear undervalued relative to WFII.

Interested in any comments on these groups.

Re: Brain/Brawn- Mobile Wireless B&B WCII

Frank and Thread- I was always wondering if the valuation given to WFII could hold up. Appears we talked about WCII back in mid 2000. I remember it having a valuation that seem very high. I tried to weigh it against the prospect of it being a play in the very hot mobile wireless sector but still did not know know to value it.

Well, looks like it's going to be taken to the cleaners along with the other more traditional B&B companies. They warned.

Wireless Facilities sees lower-than-expected Q1 earnings

Kind of strange where the warning was done-In the 10K. I kind of doubt that is why it has dropped from $115/share down to where it may bottom today at $4/share of so. Kind of seems overdone on the selling side at first glance. Paying a PSR of 1 for the space WFII plays in seems too reasonable to me? Seems like there is no end to this carnage. -MikeM(From Florida)
