Jim, I think this is the key fallacy in Micron's complaint:

I guess if Rambus signed some sort of agreement w/ JEDEC to disclose the patents in question, then Micron could argue successfully for breach-of-contract. But I doubt even Micron believes they can win the case on this story alone; it just seems too spun and contrived to me. I agree with GV, Dave, and the others. This suit seems to be a pre-emptive attack on Micron's part, since they already knew Rambus was going to sue sometime in the near future.

This is indeed an interesting case. It reminds me more of the board game "Risk" than anything else.
