First off, it is impossible to even remotely compare SWOMI to wireless LAN as they are so different.
Maybe the difference comes down to mere existence. Wireless LANs do exist.

The rest is a bunch of surface level crap that means nothing. It is possible to have a pt to pt wireless connection using 802.11 that extends 60 miles if you have tall enough towers, the right kind and size of antenna and enough power...nothing special.

I wonder if they understand the concept that this stuff is a shared medium and transmitting one tv quality video stream would wipe out the bandwidth for everyone else.

That post did nothing to demonstrate that swomi isn't a wireless LAN.

But you already know this.

You would be amazed at how someone that is mildly technologically savvy could pull the wool over the eyes of greedy people with dollar signs in their eyes. Did you ever hear of funphone.com or webnode?
