Nice finds....I knew about the MTNL installations but had not seen the first one. Unfortunately, the numbers are clearly against CDMA. Both of those contracts seem to be for a form of WLL....and are for a very small number of lines. Also, MTNL is concurrently deploying a GSM system that is supposed to be for 3x times the number of lines.

I've never expected much from WLL...it seems to me that the benefits of mobility combined with the economies of scale that have been generated clearly point towards mobile deployments. China being the prime example....

India is still starting out, so perhaps CDMA can still get a foothold....but it is looking harder every day.
