TG-a:

"reiterating guidance at this point in the Q",

Comment: If Ruiz, who is not a dreamweaver, can make that statement two months into Q3,I'd take that as the rock bottom guideline...Can't believe that Wall Street isn't all over AMD...Can easily rationalize $50 to $75 per share today based on known fundamentals...Can't wait 'til AMD heats up again and don't think I'll be waiting very much longer!!! The analysts are way, way off base with their $2.00 to $2.50 estimates...AMD'll probably come in at twice their estimates...Too many JJ's out there...

reiterating guidance at this point in the Q, means that they are very sure of delivering in Q3 and since most designs and volume projections are probably already done for Q4- also for Q4.

That was the only point that interested me in the news release. AMD has been reiterating these prospect on and on. With the non-existence of the Duron among top 5 OEMs, I was expecting AMD to reach around 3.2 millions. The Duron is still only existent in the retail market, so that means that, in this 3,6 millions number, the ratio of TBird is WAY higher than expected by AMD.

BIG ASP
BIG EPS
two surprises at the CC :
- reaching the aggressive 3.6 millions goal
- toping the actual EPS (0.62 from SI) by a huge margin
