I agree with you. However, I cant imagine how during those Kurlak years of 97-98, when all seemed gloomy, Intel could have guessed the boom of today and planned accordingly.

Maybe "slightly less than excellence" is the best a company worth $500B can do.

Uh John, Intel still has 80% of the CPU market and 84% of the PC chip market. I think you are being too hard on Intel. They can easily give up another 10% and make it up elsewhere without hurting the stock price, IMHO.
