Dear David: OT OT You live in Oregon?? Two years ago I travelled from South Florida ALL THE WAY to Grants Pass Oregon with the intention of buying a home and moving there. Found out two things. (1) no more home bargains, Californians screwed that up royally (2) you have a 9 1/2% state income tax even on investment income. I dont have a problem with state income taxes on wages as they are usually adjusted to reflect it but on investment income, I draw the line on such a high rate. So, I didnt move. IMHO Oregon lost out. I would have been bringing substantial consumer power, no children to educate and no draw on state services. Oregon ought to reconsider their tax policies. JDN
