Re : Iridium's "slice" of spectrum -- I think "use it or lose it" (back to the FCC) may have applied.

not925, there will be no bids for Globalstar spectrum because it is not a property right they can trade. It is spectrum they share with others and it was given to them to use under certain conditions - I suppose a new constellation owner could apply to WARC and get the use of the spectrum transferred to them.

I don't see my comments as 'hopeful'. Maybe you do. Some things I am hopeful of [implying I have some serious levels of doubt and am hoping for a lucky break]. I don't have my Globalstar shares in the 'hopeful' category. I'm certain that G! will continue growing and will not go out of business. It will absolutely NOT be deorbited! There is less chance of that than the USA being taken over by encrypted cyberspace, along with the rest of the world. [That's a little in-joke because I'm sure cyberspace will take over as the pre-eminent 'country' - it already has my allegiance].

PS: Thanks Jim for the comments, but remarks such as the following have "Nobody wants to buy" written all over them. This is failing-salesman flimflam: <We talked about subscriber #'s vs mou's and he said they everyone is targeting high end users and are not concerned with subscriber #'s. Feels mou's will increase exponentially as these users get on board. Again, he said summer was slower than expected due to unavailability of decision makers but interest and some commitments are there. >

Decision-makers do NOT take the whole summer off. If they want a phone, they'll buy it. They have budgets to cover a few hundred dollars. This is BAD news and as pointed out NO NEWS IS BAD NEWS. Jeanette Clonan is concealing MOU and she is doing that because it's BAD NEWS. They should have the MOU on a daily graph at globalstar.com just like "Umpty Million Big Macs Sold" was out the front of the restaurants.

They are lowering, gradually, minute and handset prices and STILL there is no traction. This gives the lie to those bigwigs who flimflammed Gregg Powers that all was according to Hoyle and the market is there at their originally planned prices. It is not and was not. Now they are hunting for the price which will create big demand.

It takes a salesman five minutes to figure out if they have a live one when they visit a valid prospect to sell a Globalstar service. They just need to hand the buyer a phone, say "Here, call somebody anywhere on earth". Then wait while the prospect says "Wow! That's clear. No voice delay either. How much is it?"
