Very true. And that's why I said "if". ;)

He may be a "major contributor" all right but not in the way that you mean.

I actually do know him to some extent. I have spoken with him by phone several times. He has been personally responsible for the ramp ups at fab 25 since the failed attempts of the K5 and the much delayed K6. I suspect it was partially his struggle with A. Raza that led to Raza's departure. Given Ruiz's "hands on" style and his reputation for demanding results, V.P. Hollatz's (he is actually a very pleasant and likeable fellow) departure comes as no surprise to me.

Patient Regards,

DARBES

Joe, Re: I don't think we know enough about him (Lary Hollatz) to jump to any conclusions.

I think that is (was) the problem with him: Nobody knew him. Everybody knew Dham and I think it's important to have someone in charge who is a well know person capable of making important decisions. Hector will have an advantage there and to be honest I think Hollatz marketing approach for the Athlon and his decisions for platform support were catastrophic. Things can only get better now.
