Frank and thread. I'm wondering if anyone here or on perhaps other threads has done an analysis of the Fixed Wireless equipment makers sector. This seems to me to be a viable Last Mile Solution as the costs are much cheaper than laying fiber, Fixed Wireless can be made available in areas without high-speed internet access faster than DSL or Cable. Also upload and download speeds are faster than DSL or cable. What's not to like?

Revenues have been growing in almost all of the companies in the Yahoo link at the end of this post. AT&T, Sprint and World Com have many trials in the US using equipment from vendors in the LMDS, MMDS and unlicensed bands.

Here are a some links to articles about Fixed Wireless:

broadband-wireless.com Magazine has lots of articles

lightreading.com

networkcomputing.com Is a good overview article with several parts. Link is to Part I

wcai.com

fixedwirelessbiz.com

sprintbroadband.com This is the homepage for Sprint Fixed Internet Broadband Access and has alot of information if one delves into the various white papers, descriptions, etc.

insight-corp.com Overview of a $4200 research report :)

I have many other links on the topic.

The following link to Yahoo shows the companies I've found so far that lean toward being pure-plays. CSCO, NT, MOT, ALA and other big companies are also involved but Fixed Wireless would have less of an impact on the bottom line of these giant companies.

finance.yahoo.com

Of the above 8 IPO'd in 2000 - AIRN BRZE FLRE GGNT TLXS TNSI VYYO WMUX. PCOM traded as PCMS until June of this year. WIN.TO is a Canadian company.

Would appreciate very much if any of you could lead me to threads which discuss this "group" of companies and the topic of Fixed Wireless Last Mile Solutions. I have done a text search here on SI for the individual stock symbols and have found some information but am looking for a more in-depth discussion.

Thanks in advance.
