Hi X.
Can I call you X ? I know that's getting a little personal. Death, What a concept eh (now you know I,m Canadian). "To be or not to be" that was Will's question, should he continue to take all the suffering that this existence throws at us or duck out of this lousy life and take his chances exploring that "undiscovered country", DEATH. But ey there's the rub, I suspect your bravado in the face of death may diminish somewhat when that train arrives.

As for " folks that believe in your God tend to be judgmental, and cruel, like your God," I agree that some people are but as for God, He is Just but never cruel. I for one want a God who is just. I want a God who will not let Hitler go unpunished. I want a God who will not let rapists and murderers and child molesters go free. Unfortunately just like the adage "where's a cop when you need one" they seem to show up just when our hand is in the cookie jar and we are busted. Don't you hate that? I always want justice for everybody except me. For me I want mercy. Now the question is this. How can a God who is totally holy and just, give anybody mercy without violating his own character? The answer is that Christ, the incarnate God-man came into this world not for himself but to lay his life down as substitutionary sacrificial payment for the sins of all who will receive it by faith. It is by grace (a free gift) not by doing X or Y or Z . The bible claims that Jesus rose from the dead not only to validate His claim to be the Son of God (rom 1:4)but to demonstrate his power to defeat Satan "and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage"(heb 2:14-15) I am struck by the seeming inability of most on this thread to differentiate between myth and a historically verifiable truth claim. I freely admit that if Christ is not risen then everything that Christianity claims is false. however the opposite is also true. If Christ is truly risen then he is not only saviour of all who receive Him but judge of all who reject Him
