Then you disliked Seinfeld? They were not likeable people, but they were funny. I used to watch that regularly, and laughed often. But it tended to be a hard laugh. Toward the end of its run I quit watching.

I guess I like Sanford and Son and The Honeymooners because they don't take themselves too seriously. They don't mind being absurd. Plus, there is a genuine warmth among the characters. Both Redd Foxx and Jackie Gleason knew it was just TV, and they shouldn't take it too far.
