Looks like a good offering...

EMC is NOT going to be hurt by it... too small

NTAP is the leader, likewise...

Probably a nice 100-200 million seller for dell..

Unfortunately, a drop in the bucket for a $ 20 Billion dollar corporation..

Good initiaitve but will represent maybe 1-3 % of the business.. And BTW, most customers DO NOT TRUST storage products from a SERVER SELLER...

That is why SUN has had so much trouble in selling as much storage as servers...

CUSTOMERS DO NOT TRUST SERVER VENDORS TO SELL THEM STORAGE..

take care
Jean

The ConvergeNet products are too late to be relevant, U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray analyst Ashok Kumar said in a recent report.
The big mistake Dell made was not buying Data General and letting EMC take it away. I just don't think the idea of buying another company sit well with them, especially after Compaq's mess with DEC. Still, losing the resell of Clarion's really set Dell back and they ended up having to buy a company anyway, only it was a company without an interim solution while new products were being developed.
