Aloha Jerry,

Outlook, at this time, cannot retrieve Hotmail email. Ironically, Outlook Express can. There have been rumors about an upcoming MS patch to allow Hotmail access from Outlook but man I sure wouldn't hold my breath.

BTW, I just got back from a couple of weeks in Washington state, tromping up and down rivers shaded on both sides by evergreens in search of the eleusive King Salmon and/or Steelhead. I was using light tackle and often went a mile or so into the bush on my day trips. On the last day of vacation, at 3pm, working my way back downstream hitting all the holes I'd discovered on the way up, I watched a beautiful 5# Steelhead come softly up out of the deep, snatch my lure, do a rolling half twist, and head back for the netherworld. Her plans changed. I fought her for about 4-5 minutes, with my pole bent almost double before tiring her to the point of exhaustion. Ended up with a 5#, 26.5" female steelhead for my trouble. Fed the entire family, including inlaws, with half of it, froze the rest, and flew back to Maui the next morning. You gotta know I was loving life for awhile there.

Hope All is Well, Aloha Mike

DS,

<< Can anyone (ERIC?) tell me if hotmail e-mail can be retrieved by Outlook, or is it browser-based only? >>

It is browser based but you can use OE in conjunction with it, but don't think you can with Outlook.

Speaking of "hotmail", I have a "hotmail" passport I use to access my portfolio on Microsoft Money Central Investor which is primarily maintained (by my option) on my client rather than at host server. I generally stay logged on, between all sessions but every few months they change something requiring a fresh log in. I have been effectively locked out for a week on the latest refresh. Simply have been too busy to bug em (which ain't easy if you ain't logged in). It's pretty painful because my portfolios are linked to my brokerage accounts and I have a batch of watch accounts in the master account as well.

Since changing platforms, I have not reinstalled Money so this complicates things.

I know. You'll tell me again to get Quicken, Quick. <g>
