Stribe, Re: you should know that Sharky's is often accused of Intel bias... both externally and at their own forums.

Yes, I noticed that for some time and I think that's why hardware sites like AnandTech are much more successfully. Even if I were not an investor in AMD I wouldn't like their kind of journalism because it doesn't help me as a customer.

Just look at their new IDF coverage: They propose to drill extra holes in your PC case just to use the new P4 from Intel. Their review will probably be an Intel lovefest... The fact that a customer has to buy a new board, a new CPU, a new case, new RAM and a new power supply just to upgrade his P3 to a P4 is a serious issue that should have been mentioned.

I'm wondering why AMD is still sending them CPUs in advance for reviews.

I know it's silly to play preferences, but I have to stand and defend Alex a little. In the brief time I've chatted with him, he was a really, really nice guy. I mean, he's the type of person you want to take home to mother. I seldom see people as nice as he is.

I know that even nice people have biases, but I do think that he does try to not be like that. I dunno ... perhaps a mixture of political neutrality and incomplete information can cause him to occasionally say some off the wall things.

But he was a great guy (and probably still is).

Anand isn't a bad person, too, while I'm at it.

Oh, and Scott Wasson is humble. Which kicks ass. :)
