This is true only in the sense that most of the large banks offer extremely low interest rates on deposit accounts. People who agree to deposit money at these low rates only have themselves to blame. To accuse banks of illegal theft is too cynical. Banks take great pains to avoid illegal activity. Every employee who works at a bank is fingerprinted and checked for felony arrests.

To jump from the fact that banks offer low interest rates on deposits to the assertion that banks are not to be trusted with your assets is not logical. You need to ask yourself why you are so cynical.
