Jim/OT Temps in your area remind me of the 4 yrs we lived in southern Nevada.

Lower humidity. BUT, if you were outside more than an hr during summer day time heat you had to keep your head covered AND drink plenty of H2O. Otherwise, you'd dehydrade pretty fast and, at the very least, have a rip roaring headache by evening.

Cen Ohio weather lately not a whole lot different from what Roebear and Hrjr are getting in PA. A little moist recently. But a very nice summer overall. Only thing that keeps me inside more than I'd prefer is the damn allergic sinitis.

BTW, IMHO Trane is one of the best. You made a smart move.

Sleepless in Tax-a-chussetts:

biz.yahoo.com

It may be cooler now but in a few months it will be a lot more expensive.

I kiss the southern ground I live on every February when Spring starts and I think of shoveling all that greyed out polluted slow sludge from my driveway, knowing I've got 2 more months of that crap in front of me - NEVER again. I now prefer watching the jasmin blossom. For this I can put up with one bad month in August. The good thing about NC and SC is that the mountains are only an hour and a half away from the coast. Gasoline is still only $1.30 a gallon for regular. Cheaper still in Ga.

But then the most perfect place to live in the US is the Pacific Northwest, starting at San Francisco. Belissima, IF you can afford it.

Frank: The Juniata is one of the best most placid rivers to canoe on the east coast. Never fished it though. IMO - The Place - to visit in Pennsy, is Wellsboro and Pine Creek. God's country, brother.

jim_p, I don't feel so bad now, although my bill may be a little higher because of a SER # of 9 and a 19 1/2 years old Trane. but at least mine shuts off somewhere during the night. I am planning to get a new one this winter, (IF IT COOLS DOWN), I'm also glad to know a new unit with a higher SER # won't shut off either, that's real encouraging, and great info to have!
