WB Here's another value play. Strong banking business and management. T is another value play on telecom issues.

Just a cursory look at some of the numbers here for
the telecom stocks.

Stock P/E P/S This yr. Growth Next year Growth
VZ 11.3 1.9 -2.58% 8.6%
T 16.5 1.6 -15.5% 5.3%
FON 17.2 1.75 .41% 17.75%
WCOM 21.9 2.74 42.5% 26.9%

Looking at these numbers, I would say that IMO the stocks
to own would be in order WCOM, FON, VZ, then T. Yes, WCOM
is the most “pricey” if you can call P/E of 22 with a five
year growth rate of 28% “pricey.”

VZ and T with negative growth this year. They may be
stocks to own next year and may be safe right now, but I do
not see them exploding in the near future. (Although your
35% figure for telecoms overall for the next few months
sounds possible – and heck, 35% in 3-6 months ain’t that
bad.)
