I don't necessarily want you to reach a lucid state, as in thinking with a clear mind...I just want you to be awake from your greatest nightmare. You and your ilk are in the greatest state of denial since Lyle Lovett woke up the morning after marrying Julia Roberts, and he looked in the mirror and said.."She must have married me for my good looks". Ron, you have a propensity to merely quote the pundits that support your cause..i.e. Colonel Hackworth and Al Gore's "friends" of your last post. Kind of like a trial where both sides have their "experts" to testify for the side who is paying the bill, or in your case only those that speak with the bias supporting your "dreams". Well, I'm more impressed with the Sgt. Friday approach..."just the facts." For example, but I'm sure you will deny it, I would bet the farm that you and the blue bloods were sitting around the country club only a few weeks ago, sipping the martinis and eating your sushi, saying..."Can you believe these polls! Bush is going to crush poor little Albert." But as you now want to say...polls aren't to be trusted and one doesn't want to peak toooo soon. And on the subject of the military being such an important issue "now", you and your fellow Republicans just don't get the big picture. From day one, since Bush got into this race, the consenus was that the real issues for Bush was(1) Clinton and the blow job that he got from Moncia (2) the right wing fundamentist would rule the day for Bush (3)that Clinton got a blow job. Now fast forward to September and Bush discovers that even though he had to for political reasons, deny that he was a dope-head and drunkard to maintain the support of the religous right, this moral outrage against Clinton isn't what the American public cares diddle about. So he panders himself with the mantra that the last 8 years have been wasted(and probably thinking to himself...I gave up coke and Chivas for this)and low-and-behold he discovers that that doesn't play in the hinterlands either. So now we move to the next chapter...and that being the declining military readiness, which by the way started under Big Shrub and Cheney. So my suggestion for you and Shrub,Jr.,is for you to stand on any corner and yell to the American public..."Forget about Medicare! Forget about Social Security! Forget about the cost of medical drugs! Think about the military might that this country should care about as the top priority and elect me as your President". And while you and Shrub are standing there on the corner(you know the one leading into the country club) ask Shrub why he can't remember if he attended those Air National Guard meeting in Alabama while his fellow citizens that were not so fortune to select their parents well, were being shot at and killed in Viet Nam. And for your comment about educating the people, are you talking about those Christian academies all over the south that were set up for pure academic reasons. Sure Ron! Bush is going to build a consensus with his good friend Pat Robinson and Bob Jones. Tell me when you have come out of your dream state. And just for the record...What does sushi taste like?
