Ron, you have a propensity to merely quote the pundits that support your cause..

I'm sorry... are you implying that I should be quoting people who DON'T support my beliefs?

Sounds kinda silly to me....

But then again... I'm just a silly @ssed moderate who should just remain among my brethen in the "silent majority".

Btw, I support McCain and voted for him in the primaries (my wife voted for Bush so we canceled each other out.. :0) But now that Bush is the candidate, it's bascially "anyone but Gore", IMO.

So let me ask you... do you really think that Al Gore won't face the same kinds of investigations that have plagued his patron?? Are you ready to subject this nation to 4 more years of legal inquiries, congressional hearings, and special counsels, solely to unwind the scandal that Clinton/Gore have been involved in??

We haven't even begun to touch upon David Shippers (a democrat, btw) charges about Gore coercing the INS to help him manipulate the 1996 election. Heck,... we've been too involved in dealing with Clinton's BS, and waiting to have his executive priviledge claims overturned in court.

Listen... I'll tell you what I really fear, TD.... I fear that IF BUSH DOESN'T WIN, we'll see the Republican party once more in the grip of the extreme right and reactionaries. Bush is the one chance that this nation has of overpowering the extremist of BOTH SIDES of the spectrum, and achieving a compromise in running this goverment.

Whereas if Gore is elected, the Bob Barrs, Burtons, and Delays will have free reign to pursue their legal obligation to investigate Gore's activities.

Gore is no centrist... he pandered to the NEA, the gays, Jesse Jackson, and to the hollywood liberals in order to get a favorable reception at the convention. He now OWES THEM big time...

As for the Republicans... it might be said that Bush owes them too... but I would suggest not, since their was no other candidate, except McCain, who could have a chance against Gore.

For example, but I'm sure you will deny it, I would bet the farm that you and the blue bloods were sitting around the country club only a few weeks ago,.....

For you information, I hardly rate as a "blue-blood". I come from a blue collar family, my friend. I paid my own way through college with loans and by working two jobs, as well as maintaining my position as a military reservist (enlisted, not officer). My father is a construction contractor who mainly now paints for a living because of the wear and tear on his body from years of hanging sheetrock. And my father grew up in central Arkansas (where everyone still despises Clinton) in a family of 14 kids and my grandma was still roto-tilling her garden at 81
years of age (god rest her soul).

Now how that rates me as a "blue-blood" in your book, I really don't know pal. But I would love to hear you relate your family history to us all... Dude.

that even though he had to for political reasons, deny that he was a dope-head and drunkard

Personally, I don't trust anyone who is so stiff they can't have a drink in public. And Gore is pretty stiff... (did you see that kiss he faked on Tipper?) Besides, drunk people tell you how they really feel... it's great for knowing the type of character a person really is.

So now we move to the next chapter...and that being the declining military readiness, which by the way started under Big Shrub and Cheney.

The next chapter?? It is only one chapter in the sad history this adminstration has written over the past 8 years. Yet, here we have seen Clinton utilize the military in more instances that either Bush or Reagan... imagine that... Using it more, but making them do it with less.

Cheney proposed cutting back by 25% after Desert Storm was over but then Clinton increased those cuts to 40% overall. Hell, the only reason we were able to accomplish Desert Storm in 1990 was that the primary forces involved came from Europe. They were combat units that were already preparing to redeploy to CONUS, now that the Soviet Union had fallen, so it was not difficult to divert them to the Mid-East first. But there is NO WAY we could manage another Desert Storm now. We don't have the necessary manpower, nor the equipment, or ammunition stores available.

Hell, we barely could handle Kosovo.. Don't you remember that Apache helicopter battalion (300 some odd bodies) that took 30 days to deploy to Albania? When they finally got there they were declared not ready to fly combat and required more night flying training. And then when two of those choppers were lost in a night flying accident the entire battalion was grounded.

That's not what I particularly call "ready".

And I saw it personally. I saw people hanging around on weekend drills, doing constant maintenance on vehicles they seldom were permitted to drive, not receiving adequate funding for realistic training opportunities or to attend other than essential schools (usually dealing with NCO academies). They were lucky to be permitted to shoot 60 bullets per year for zeroing/practice, and weapons qualification.

And I can personally tell you that there are 1 million people out there holding or awaiting a security clearance who have not yet had there 5 year update investigations completed, or their initial PSI fulfilled (for new soldiers/contractors). The average time period to complete a SSBI clearance (the highest level) is approximately 9 months, btw.

yell to the American public..."Forget about Medicare! Forget about Social Security! Forget about the cost of medical drugs! Think about the military might that this country should care about as the top priority and elect me as your President".

Do you think you'll have medicare or social security in a nation that is under military seige? Not that is it likely to happen anytime soon, mind you... but the very reason this nation has been able to succeed is that we have been consistently strong on the military front (as well as having the benefit of two large oceans). We have been able to protect our national interests, whether here, in Europe, or the mid-East because of a strong military.

And I see NO SITUATION where poor people have not had adequate access to health care. There are plenty of indigent patients who have been cared for, and there are plenty of existing and properly funded programs to handle the ones who are TRULY NEEDY.

One thing you liberals never seem to grasp is that once you inject the government directly into the decision process as to who does and doesn't receive a particular good or service, it is an open invitation to corruption to where pharmaceutical companies can lobby the government to alter their portion of the government program to be favorable towards them, while disadvantaging their competitors.

We're not in a situations yet where it is justifiable to create a whole new entitlement program that may cost over $168 Billion over 10 years, money that would have to be paid out regardless of whether were in a bull or bear market. I would be much more in favor of outright grants that can be adjusted as needed.

But hey.. if there is a social problem... just create another agency to deal with it... why not, right??

But here's a good article on the topic that seems to fairly deal with it.. A bit dated.. but maybe that's all the better:

nurseweek.com

while his fellow citizens that were not so fortune to select their parents well, were being shot at and killed in Viet Nam.

Oh yeah.... .like Al Gore spending 4 months in Vietnam as a journalist was something to be proud of (under the watchful eye of his father's surrogates, mind you). At least George was smart enough to fly a jet fighter....

Are you?

And for your comment about educating the people, are you talking about those Christian academies all over the south that were set up for pure academic reasons.

Who the hell are you to tell people where the hell they can send their children to school. Do you think Chelsea or the Gore Children went to public School??!!! Not a chance... Chelsea went to Sidwell Friends across the street from the Fannie Mae headquarters, while Al Gore III went to St. Albans before being transferred to another private school for disciplinary problems. St. Albans is highly prestigious and is Al Gore Jrs. alma mater..

peepshowbook.com (bonus: note the comment about Sarah Gore's drunken demeanor when she was picked up for underage drinking)

So its funny how Al Gore is against private schools, calling them destructive and un-american....:

heartland.org

Appearing with children in a recent campaign ad for the Democratic Presidential nomination, Vice President Al Gore said private schools "are fine, but not with money designated for public schools where 90 percent of our American children go." (emphasis added)

..... yet he sent his own children to private schools...

Is Al Gore guily of Un-American activities (by his own definition)???

suntimes.com

Btw, here's a nice link that gives some arguments as to why creating competition with the public school system is POSITIVE and forces the NEA to ensure that our students are properly taught to survive in this world, not just to regurgitate their own liberal social agenda.

And just for the record...What does sushi taste like?

Like bait..

Can you tell us what does rattlesnake tastes like??

Wait.. don't tell me... It taste's like Chicken, right?

(actually, not quite like chicken... it's a more delicate flavor).
