Art,
I still think that Sandisk going up sharply (especially over the 76-77 area) only after it was publicly confirmed that Seagate had sold all of their shares was not merely a coincidence. The same thing happened at Veeco, another stock that I follow and in which Seagate had a several million share stake that they announced that they sold off at the same time as their Sandisk stake.

I know that this is OT, and won't make sense to peole who haven't followed the Seagate situation closely, but it is just amazing to me that Seagate management appears to getting away with this LBO theft. It makes me sick. Everyone should appreciate good management, and say a prayer of thanks, especially on Labor Day. Good management makes labor a blessing. Bad management leads to unions.

Sam

New Samsung QCOM cdma 2000 phone now shipping in Korea.

Anyone know what memory capability this little wonder has?

You can download music on this mobile over over 140Kbps. Should have some memory to use these facilities.

Best regards,

L

Flash EEprom system

Abstract
A system of Flash EEprom memory chips with controlling circuits serves as non-volatile memory such as that provided by magnetic disk drives. Improvements include selective multiple sector erase, in which any combinations of Flash sectors may be erased together. Selective sectors among the selected combination may also be de-selected during the erase operation. Another improvement is the ability to remap and replace defective cells with substitute cells. The remapping is performed automatically as soon as a defective cell is detected. When the number of defects in a Flash sector becomes large, the whole sector is remapped. Yet another improvement is the use of a write cache to reduce the number of writes to the Flash EEprom memory, thereby minimizing the stress to the device from undergoing too many write/erase cycling.
