The debate commission format is structured so that short stock answers are required. The candidate is given 60 seconds to respond to a question and 30 seconds for rebuttal. The formats proposed by Bush allow for more free flowing give and take.

Gore likes the 60 second/30 second time allotments because it suits his sucker punch style.

I don't watch Larry much, but I saw the NAFTA debate and have seen a few other people talk with him. I disagree that they cannot have a good debate there. He is usually deferential when he has people like Gore: if they want to talk, they talk.

"The People's Terms"? No one consulted with me. If the people want to hold it against Bush, he will be punished. If not, not.

Is he somehow different? Maybe the times they are a- changing.........

Like a minute with a 30 second rebuttal is plenty of time to make your point. You don't have a clue.knc
