I don't think Intel will have a hard time selling the few P4's that they make. Delaying the release would be suicide with AMD MHz growing by 100 MHz every 5-6 weeks.

It will be the highest MHz chip on release and the few good benchmarks that Intel has up its sleeve (Quake III definitely one of them) will let them avoid embarrassment. Lets start a contest to guess how many of the top 10 OEM's announce products by November 1. My quess is 5. (If someone could come up with a list of OEM's it would help.)
