Another possible reason for the lack of CF II slots in newer cameras (Epson, Nikon, et al)is that perhaps camera manufacturers don't want ot be held liable for Microdrive failures.

We already know ofa couple of editorial departments that don't trust them anymore after many failures.

Some market research on code storage and flash-based data storage...

"Code Flash memory (NOR type) and Data Flash memory (NAND type) will experience different growth patterns. For the former, supply is expected to exceed demand in 18 months' time and to stay ahead of demand throughout the forecast period. For the [NAND type flash for data storage] it is expected that there will be a chronic shortage throughout the forecast period, as supply will not catch up with the demand."

Recall that SanDisk is a supplier of flash storage products and FlashVision LLC,
the SanDisk/Toshiba JV, will be producing NAND-based flash products.

This is excellent news for SNDK shareholders.
