The fall 1997 cash was almost as nasty as spring 2000 - ditto fall 1998. It's always a "fundamental change" until the next rebound.

I won't be convinced the market has changed fundamentally unless the indexes finish in the red for the year and don't rebound sometime early next year.

In some ways, a sideways whipsaw market is the most dangerous. No clear direction which way we should play. Every time I get frustrated being below my 2000 high, I am thankful to have a decent profit at all.
