Slacker,

<< A couple of weeks ago, John G. found the following spec's on the Qualcomm website for the MSM5105....as far as I know, there was no press release for this ASIC >>

John's da man. Keith too. Me on vacation. Just searchin the Qualcomm site now. They wiped out all the stuff on the roadmap for which no standards yet. MSM 5100 with data rate twice the MSM5000 is history. Makes sense. I'll take the MSM105 without the great MSM3300 stuff if it gets us interoperable with GSM-MAP and into China, helpful in Korea ....

Slacker,

pretty cool website.

It is basically the highlights of the QC website in Chinese. While we see many foreign language website with English versions, I am not sure if I have seen any US majors with a Chinese version. I wonder if ERICY, NOK, Intel, etc got chinese version websites?

Slacker,

<< This chipset seems pretty useless for other markets (Koreans/Japanese would likely demand multimedia capabilities >>

To the contrary. This MSM5105 sets the stage for Korea/China roaming. This chip can be used by Verizon\Vodaphone you name it.

This chip potentially makes CDMA citizens global roamers.
