Care to put some % probabilities on each of those happening in 2000 or 2001?

The biggest short-term obstacle for Qualcomm is still the Korean subsidies. The demand picture has been truly screwed up over the last three months by the subsidy ban. Over the last couple of weeks I think we have begun to see the first real cracks in the ban. The recent decision by KTF to allow SK Telecom subs to switch carriers without a activation fee is pretty indicative. I doubt that this occurred without government approval (Korea Telecom is the government owned carrier). Samsung must have finally started to scream bloody murder. This is just speculation....but I think the government will relax the ban by the end of the year.

As to the other events....I think that W-CDMA trials will likely be announced prior to sampling of the chipset in February. Q's management has alluded to demand by handset manufacturers and Gilder talked about a trial with Japan Telecom. If the above is true, I think that the October wireless conference (can never remember the name) would be a good guess for an announcement date.

Nokia is unlikely to happen until the very last minute....so it all depends on when W-CDMA goes commercial.

I honestly have no clue as to China. I was greatly encouraged to see the Chinese version of Q's website. Also there have been encouraging words out of Korea....but we've all been burned before.

I disagree on time frames. China, announcement before the end of the calendar year. NOK, maybe as early as next month, right before or on the first day of the PCS Show (approx. Oct. 21). I just don't think NOK can show up there without a 3G handset license and phones to hawk. Korean handset subsidy ban is virtually moot since it does not apply to the new 1x handsets; only problem is that there won't be official press release announcement, so the ANALysts won't figure it out for at least a quarter.
