some tidbits on the overall market
- Dow nearing its summer high resistance level NOW
- Dow is above its three moving averages
- NYSE has been cannibalizing techs & Naz this week so far
- financials are strong today, led by JPMorgan
- excellent sign for overall market upcoming

- excellent productivity numbers with +5.7%
- excellent unit labor costs with small negative

- Gore is dangerous, calling for eliminating Federal debt
- if all US firms moved to eliminate debt, then bigtime recessssion
- Gore is dangerous, calling for lid on medicaire drugs
- anytime feds get involved with private pricing, bad stuff happens

- USdollar is strong as hell, Euro is weak as hell
- many are now fearing European economic weakness could get worse

- the US bond yield curve now is absurdly inverted
- the 5yr TBill has a yield well below FedFunds rate
- Greenspan controls (or guides) FedFunds rate
- 10yr and 30yr are now about a full 1% below FedFunds
- as long as the labor market remains wicked tight, Fed will keep it this way IMO

- for currency and bond reasons, Greespan is under pressure to lower rates
- FedFunds rate is STILL HITTING BRAKES ON ECONOMY

when the stock market factors all these elements, we should rally under the expectation of Fed easing within the next 6-9 months... growth stocks should benefit the most

I am wondering if late August was a prolonged amateur hour

CREE finding support at 125
RMBS continues to find support at 75
QCOM is up 4 pts !!!

Hi Jill,

Thanks for the explanation. I understand RR's plan & how he implements it. RR is very good about discussing at length all about it. There is no way I would call his plan, nor the option buying by most porchers a willy-nilly plan.

FWIW, I choose to poke fun at the obvious & unwarranted swipe at the porch. I know you & Poet have been friends. I mean you no ill will, nor Poet for that matter.

Regardless, I am amazed at how far folks will go to get even or get back against folks that they have had quarrels with..... Lies & misrepresentations included. To me, that reflects poorly on the person who stoops to that level. Maybe they really do need to look in the mirror & get a good look at the person they have become.

It might bring about a change for the positive.

Regards,

Tim
