mightlakers is a lazy bum. It is your turn to translate those articles.

It appears the pressure is on for CHU to launch CDMA NOW, even though it would be 2G stuff.

The article also pointed out reality - China (nor the industry) is NOT ready for 3G today. For CHU to wait for a year of two would set them too far behind.

Technological level within the domestic licensees need 2G experience to get ready for 3G. For some reason, they (China) think that the playing field for CDMA is about as level as it would ever be RIGHT NOW.

I think the article further pointed a few things of importance. China population around 1.4 billion (I thought it was only 1.2 but I must have lost count) is going to generate enormous growth in number of subscribers. However, voice will still dominate for years to come. Then why wait for 3G instead of going 2G RIGHT NOW.

Spectrum is limited resource. China could have 200 million subs by 2005. CDMA is far superior than GSM. I think with the density of population in China, they put much higher value in capacity than we do here.

The source of the article is from Science and Technology Daily. stdaily.com

It is just my opinion that the article is well researched and thorough, with a global awareness. As an example, it even made reference to Europe and Japanese motivation to shed QC's IPR control.

As for Mightylakers, you got the next 10 translation assignments.
